Introducing Memory Connections: A Daily Program of Support, Fulfillment and Joy

Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia? If so, you likely know just how stressful and overwhelming it can be. If you are beginning to suffer caregiver burnout and stress and want a better lifestyle for your loved one, it’s important that you know there are options that can help, such as Memory Connections at YourLife™ of Wildwood. “Memory Connections helps add some fun and excitement to the life of a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, all while giving caregivers a chance to relax, refresh and care for other aspects of their life,” says Cheyanne Schaible, Community Relations Director at YourLife™ of Wildwood. “Memory Connections is a daily program we provide to ensure those with dementia can enjoy a secure environment where they can connect with others and enjoy the support they need along with fulfillment and joy. This also gives caregivers peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe and interacting with others.” “Memory Connections is an important program because those with dementia can greatly benefit from social interaction. In fact, those who are often at home and have little social opportunity can be impacted by isolation and depression. Depression can cause an array of health problems and can increase agitation, aggression and more, making it even harder for caregivers to provide the care they need,” says Cheyanne. “By participating in Memory Connections, we’ve seen seniors thrive, their caregivers get the break they deserve and some that even want to stay with us permanently because they love it so much!
